After testing a range of machines, the West Lexham retreat replaced their ageing golf buggies with a Nipper. The electrically powered UTV perfectly fits their ethos of sustainability and relaxation, delivering everything their business needs.

West Lexham is a holistic wellness retreat close to the North Norfolk coast. It offers a range of different accommodations across its 22-acre site. Sustainability and tranquillity are essential motivations. The business is almost entirely powered by renewable electricity, and by reducing noise from the vehicles they use, the retreat can create a more tranquil atmosphere, making it easier for guests to relax and find inner peace.

The estate manager, Jamie Wright, first heard of Electric Wheels through local connections and wanted to see what they offered. They had been running two golf buggies for their maintenance and cleaning team’s use. These reached the end of their life, so Jamie decided it was time to invest in a better vehicle.

Jamie demoed an electric John Deere Gator and the Nipper. The Nipper emerged as the clear winner because of its agile and slim build, and the price tag sealed the deal.

“West Lexham is a year-round business with a mix of terrains,” says Jamie. “Our main storage facility is across the road from the main site, so it is incredibly useful that it is road-legal. The Nipper is perfect for what we use it for; all our staff loves it.

“We have done 200 hours in it already and only charged it three or four times. We usually wait for it to get to 50% charge before plugging it in. We are getting excellent mileage from a single charge.

“I would love to get another vehicle when the budget allows.”
