Buy, Reserve or Hire An Electric All-terrain Vehicle.

The NEW Electric Wheels website is now live, complete with the ability to reserve and purchase electric UTVs online.

The Project

The Electric Wheels website has come a long way over the past few years since the business launched. Previously it was a brochure style website designed to showcase the range of electric all-terrain vehicles. Fast forward three years and the website has been carefully and meticulously redesigned to improve usability and functionality for its visitors as well as adding a fresh look and feel to the site.

“For the project we worked with website developers Grit Digital – based just down the road in Norwich – and we were delighted with the team’s approach to the project,” says Marketing Manager, Rebecca Dack. “We had a very clear idea of our objectives. Due to the very specific needs of our customers, we needed flexibility. There is no ‘one size fits all’ approach. Our customers often have very specific needs and opting for a standard off the shelf website wouldn’t have catered for such diversity. We chose a bespoke build to make managing the complexities much easier.”

The main change, and the most exciting for Electric Wheels is that users can now configure their vehicles and either reserve or purchase online.

Configure & Buy

As an ecommerce website electric-wheels.co.uk has the functionality for users to select a product and tailor the vehicle based on the individual’s needs as a business or as a consumer. Simply visit ‘Buy’ in the top menu. Scroll through the available vehicles and select. The user can then decide to either purchase or reserve in the vehicle’s original state, make upgrades such as change an acrylic windscreen to glass or add extras like an enclosed cab or rear search light.

The shopping basket functionality means that users can choose one vehicle, select multiples of one style of vehicle or add different models with different specifications to the same order. Once selection is complete, the user pays a deposit to reserve the vehicle or vehicles. A member of the team will then be in touch to discuss delivery or collection and final payment.

Did you know you can also try before your buy?

Part of the decision to purchase can be helped but opting to hire for a week before purchasing. Simply opt to hire a vehicle like The Nipper® Pro and if you decide to purchase at the end, the hire price will be deducted from the sale price.

User Experience

The new website takes users though a clear pathway no matter their stage in the decision-making process. “This was important. Our customers are varied. Whether that be industry or approach. It was just as vital to cater for those wanting to make a quick decision, as it was for those needing more research prior to making a purchase,” says Rebecca. “Helping our customers understand more about individual vehicles, core features, energy efficiencies, performance and charge capacity was high on the agenda. This has been achieved through providing enhanced product specifications, along with carefully researched FAQs. All now readily available at their fingertips,” she added.

Hire or Book a Demo

The website remains a shop window for hiring vehicles long or short-term. Again, with more information available, it’s easier for users to select which vehicles are best for their event or business needs. There is also a specific hire form to submit an enquiry based on vehicle numbers and date of hire. Ideal for when a customer already knows and understands the benefits of going electric.
